A hearty congratulations to Melcher Duarte on this well-deserved win in the Veer Gatha competition. His success story is a shining example of what can be achieved when patriotism, creativity, and dedication come together. May his triumph continue to motivate students everywhere to explore their talents, celebrate the courage of India’s armed forces, and carry forward the spirit of nationalism and gratitude in all that they do. The Veer Gatha competition this year witnessed participation from 75 schools. Students showcased their talents in a variety of formats—ranging from essays and poetry to paintings and multimedia presentations. With such widespread participation, the level of creativity and patriotism on display was truly inspiring. Each submission echoed the heartfelt respect and admiration students hold for India’s defenders. Despite the tough competition, Melcher Duarte stood out for his imaginative and heartfelt portrayal of courage. His project combined vivid storytelling, artistic flair, and a deep sense of gratitude towards the armed forces. Melcher’s entry highlighted how each soldier’s sacrifice plays a vital role in safeguarding the nation’s freedom and the importance of remembering and honoring their legacy.

This victory is a testament not only to Melcher’s individual talent but also to the supportive environment fostered by the teachers and staff at Aninha Educational Institute of Higher Secondary Arts and Science. The school encourages holistic development, critical thinking, and creative expression—values that clearly shone through in Melcher’s work. Initiated by the Ministry of Defence, Veer Gatha is more than just a competition—it is a platform to celebrate the stories of courage, valor, and sacrifice demonstrated by the members of India’s armed forces. By participating in this initiative, students from schools across the country gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the brave men and women who protect India’s borders. The project encourages them to express their gratitude and learn about heroism through art, writing, and other creative mediums.
